Reasons for joining ΣΛΓ: Coming from an all girls high school I kind of missed the atmosphere that it gave me, how easy it was to open up to others that would understand how you feel and what you’re going through because well lets be honest there are only certain things that girls can understand from one another. I had made a lot of close friends in my past 2 years at Waterloo but a majority of them were guys. This isn’t a bad thing and I love them but, what I really wanted was a group of girls that I could open up to about certain things, whom I could relate and talk to. I rushed the different sororities on campus throughout my second year, and the one which I found I had felt most connected to was Sigma Lambda Gamma. From finally accepting my Bid to join the sorority to post-initiation, it’s been an unforgettable experience. I not only found friends but i’ve found sisters who’ll support me through anything I may be struggling with, who know how to have fun and who have the best of intentions for one another. What I have come to love and appreciate the most about the sisters is how easy it is to be open and vulnerable without the fear of being judged or looked down upon- you have sisters that will give you the support and encouragement you need. Especially being a person that tends to wear her heart on her sleeve it truly is my perfect fit. Sigma Lambda Gamma has truly become a family to me.
Favorite activities: My hobbies include anything involving Visual Arts, Serving as one of the many Regional Leaders in the Youth Organization i’m Part of (CFC-Youth for Christ), Taking Dance Workshops preferably Hip-Hop, Long walks on the beach or through the park while listening to music, Eating, Sleeping, Watching different T.V Series such as Glee, Pokemon, The Walking Dead and just recently Pretty Little Liars- just to name a few. I Also love taking long Roadtrips, Volunteering at my old Highschool as an assistant teacher, having Heart to Heart conversations, hanging out with my friends, spending time with my family and last but not least improving and participating in the art of “twerking”.
