We the sisters of Sigma Lambda Gamma are very excited for a new term! There are many new sisters taking on executive roles and experiencing their first active term and we are so ready for growth, bonding, and an overall WONDERFUL and SPECTACULAR Fall Term!
We are looking forward to joining once again the CIBC Run for the Cure. We aim to raise as much as we can and support the women around us and around the world in every possible way.
Recruitment is near and we'd love for other girls to experience Greek Life and its benefits. We can all attest to how being a part of a sorority has turned us into leaders, role models, and genuinely amazing ladies. It's exciting to have the chance to share that experience with like-minded individuals and girls of all diverse backgrounds!
This winter term, our active sisters teamed up with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation to promote their promotional campaign of #Kiss2Cure on the University of Waterloo's Campus. The campaign was to raise awareness of both breast cancer and prostate cancer by showcasing a picture of loved ones kiss with the hashtag #Kiss2Cure on our social media. Our booth in the Student Life Center was featured on the Kiss2Cure instagram page and we received many "thank you"s from the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation for our efforts. We had raised $89.29 through our candy gram sales.
Hi there! This is Breanna, Sigma Lambda Gamma’s recruitment chair for winter 2016. Our recruitment
for the term has come to a conclusion and it was a great success! I loved every moment of recruitment:
the planning, organizing, decorating, activities and social interaction. Sisters of ΣΛΓ were present at
Vendor’s Alley, Clubs Days, and Greek Life 101. We had the opportunity to interact with the rest of the
Greek community at the University of Waterloo and met many wonderful ladies! The events ran
Monday to Thursday in the third week of January and included Winter Wonderland with hot cocoa; Fun
and Games with colouring and conversation; A Philanthropic Affair where sisters and recruits made
Valentine’s for Kiss for the Cure; and a Semi-Formal evening. Myself and the sisters were pleased to
meet so many recruits during the events and loved having the opportunity to get to know them better.
Don’t forget to check out our Instagram and Twitter to stay up to date with the happenings of Sigma

I hope this fall season has been pleasant for all of you as much as it has been for all our actives! For all the sisters that are inactive or alum I just thought I might share what's currently been happening these past couple of weeks!
We started the beginning of the term with our recruitment week! (yay) and we were able to aquire two new pledges out of the process! Although this class is small it holds a lot of promise, as well it is our last single letter class!-Omega-. As of winter 2016 we will be having double letter classes!
Besides recruitment a lot of things have been keeping the sisters busy some of these things are: socials with fraternities and other sororities, volunteering at food not bombs, fostering kittens, sister dates and tons more! Presently we are preparing for our initiation weekend as well as our International Dinner for November 28th, so if you're reading this and haven't gotten your tickets yet now is he perfect time :)! And just a reminder 50% of our proceeds from tickets and 100% of our funds from the silent auction do go to one of our main philanthropies- The Canadian Diabetes Association.
That's all for now sisters! Thanks for taking the time to read this and keep on checking this page out for more updates!
